Jones students should donate blood

The link to this website for vitalant.org is in the story.

To some people, blood donations can be the difference between life and death.

One of the most prominent names in blood donations is Vitalant. On the subject of giving blood, www.vitalant.org states, “When you give blood with Vitalant, you have the potential to help hospital patients within your community and, when the need arises, others across the country.”

According to www.vitalant.org, there is a daily need for around 29,000 units of red blood cells, 5,000 units of platelets and 6,500 units of plasma in America. Blood donation accounts for 100 percent of this necessity.

Jones College offers its students various opportunities each semester to donate blood. Jones students not only have the potential to save lives by donations, but Phi Theta Kappa members can also earn service hours by donating blood.

Scheduling an appointment to donate blood is very simple. Jones College usually sends students a link to make an appointment. Others who wish to donate blood off campus can easily find a location and make an appointment on Vitalant’s website.
