On December 6, at 7 p.m. in the M.P. Bush Fine Arts Auditorium, Jones College will hold its annual Christmas performance. Every year the Fine Arts Department delivers a spectacular performance, but this year’s Christmas With The Arts promises something truly magical.
This year’s event tells the story of a little girl and her family on Christmas Eve as they go from place to place in preparation for Christmas Day, all the while her parents try to teach her the true meaning of Christmas.
Christmas With The Arts combines the efforts of the Touch of Gold dance team, JC Jazz Band, Percussion ensemble, Jones On Stage, JC Voices, Concert Choir and a few faculty and student pianists. The Fine Arts Department will also debut their self-playing Steinway & Sons piano.
“To be on stage and be a part of the magic that makes this show come to life is something I’m truly excited to show to the audience,” says Zoe Vanderslice, a member of the Concert Choir. Everyone involved has worked to bring a magical spectacle to their audience.
Entry fee costs $10 for regular seating and $15 for premium seats, located in the first few front rows. Students can purchase their tickets at www.jcjc.edu/tickets, with the code “jcfamily” to get $5 off.
The Fine Arts Department is also working in conjunction with the Salvation Army for a toy drive, and everyone is encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy upon arrival.
