The movie portrays twin storylines, both women having moved across the country in escape of previous bad romances. Though, that’s where the similarities end as each couple’s stories are completely different.

Rated 7/10 on IMDb, this film stands as the perfect low-stakes flick for those just looking to get into the Christmas season. “The Holiday” is cheesy, cliche and silly but all the more endearing to watch. This movie can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home.

Whether you’ve seen it or not, “The Holiday” makes an excellent addition to your next, or current, Christmas movie watchlist.

LITTLE WOMEN

“Little Women” (1994) is a heartfelt coming-of-age story about the March family sisters and their battle with growing pains, loss of family, financial struggles and romantic rivals in 19th-Century Massachusetts.

Throughout the movie, the viewer gradually gets to know each of the sisters, their personalities and how they interact with each other. By the end, the viewer loves and grieves with the characters as if they were a part of the film themselves.

Boasting a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and 87% on Metacritic, this film is loved by almost all who’ve seen it, making it perfect for any kind of movie watching occasion. “Little Women” can be watched on Pluto TV, Paramount+, Hulu, Youtube and Amazon Prime Video.

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE

“The Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” (2005) might seem like a bit of a reach at first for a Christmas movie, but this film is perfect for those who want a little more action during this Christmas season.

During World War II, four English siblings are sent to live in a house in the country for safety. There, one of the siblings, Lucy, finds a magical wardrobe transporting her, and eventually the other siblings, to the mystical land of Narnia. It is there that they learn their destiny to defeat the evil White Witch, played by Tilda Swinton.

Rated both 75% on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, this movie will be the perfect break in between those cheesy and sappy holiday movies. This film can be streamed on Hulu, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video.

There’s no better way to cap the year off than with movies all about the best season of the year, so grab that blanket and some hot chocolate, and dig in!
