After students had time to revive themselves over spring break, returning to regularly scheduled classes may seem to be a more strenuous effort. Around this part of the semester, students are more sluggish and in great anticipation of summer and graduation. However, in just a couple of weeks, students will have another opportunity reinvigorate themselves before the final weeks of this semester.
Jones County Junior College is allowing students an extended weekend with classes being canceled on Good Friday and, in addition, the Monday following Easter. On Friday, April 14, which is the holiday that Christians commemorate the crucifixion of Christ, students will be out to celebrate the Easter weekend. Students will not have to conclude their holiday break on Sunday as they have before. Instead, their weekend will be extended through that Monday, and even though it is not recognized as a federal holiday, some states do account for it. Students are encouraged to enjoy their last break in April before the momentum picks back up towards finals.
