Due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, all sports for the spring have been cancelled.
The NJCAA has granted all of its spring athletes an extra year of eligibility, no matter how many games were played. Basketball players earn what is essentially an entirely new season after only having their championship games taken away, whereas baseball, softball and tennis players were not so fortunate. Discussions are currently ongoing about whether or not sophomores who are to graduate this year should be required to enroll as a full-time student in order to be eligible to play.
As for the future, it is much too early to tell whether or not the coronavirus will also affect winter sports. In a best case scenario, junior college sports will be back on track in August barring any further interruptions.
