The Lady Bobcats softball team came away with a dominating two-game sweep of Holmes Community College on March 19 at home. These two wins put the Lady Bobcats up to 15 consecutive wins on the season. The Lady Bobcats were led by their sophomore pitcher Kali Perque for the first game of the doubleheader, making her record on the year 7-1. Perque pitched the entire game, giving up seven hits with only one walk and a strikeout in the Lady Bobcats 5-0 victory over Holmes.
In the second game of the doubleheader, Jones got big hitting game out of sophomore infielder Emily Robinson. Robinson hit two home runs in the first inning. Jones won the game over Holmes 12-0 in five innings. After defeating Holmes, the Lady Bobcats traveled to Wesson to face the Wolf Pack of Copiah-Lincoln Community College on March 21.
The Lady Bobcats left Wesson with two more victories, making their winning streak now 17 games. The Lady Bobcats’ overall record is now 25-1, 10-0 in conference play after beating Co-Lin on March 19.
