JCJC football and women’s soccer ended their seasons in the first round of the playoffs. Both teams came away this year with a Region 23 south division title in the regular season.
The football team suffered only their second loss of the season against the team that gave them their first loss of the year. The East Mississippi Community College Lions ended the Bobcats’ hopes for a national championship. The Bobcats would lose to the Lions to the score of 24-20 on Oct. 28 at home in the first round of the playoffs.
Women’s soccer would also lose in the first round of the playoffs to Eastern Florida State College on Oct. 27. After winning their second consecutive Region 23 south division title, the Lady Bobcats would fall to Eastern Florida State to a score of 4-0. Like the football team, the Lady Bobcats hosted the first round of the playoffs on their own field.
The football and the women’s soccer teams both put up tremendous regular seasons. Both teams had high hopes of making it to the national championship at the beginning of the season. Although the Bobcats didn’t win the national championship, these teams will take the information and experience they gained this past season and strive to fulfill their dream of bringing a national championship back home to the campus of JCJC.
