Jones County Junior College men’s basketball team is ready to take on the new basketball season

Last year the men’s basketball team ended the season with a 17-8 record. During April, three new signees were added to the roster.

The three signees were Derion Benson, Enriques Milton and Andre Triu. Benson averaged 18 points and 10.5 rebounds per game and was the district’s most valuable player for the 25-7 Laurel team. Milton, a point guard, averaged 15 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and three steals per game with the Jackson Provine Rams. Teiu, a shooting guard, averaged 14 points, two steals and four rebounds per game with the Rams. With these new recruits, the 2016-2017 basketball season looks to be the best one yet.

The men’s basketball season will start on Nov. 4 as they take on IMG Academy in Marianna, Florida.
