Last week on Jones College’s own Bobcat soccer field, undefeated Pearl River battled both our men and women’s teams.
The Lady Bobcats came undefeated Tuesday night in their challenge against Pearl River. Due to the weather, the game was delayed 35 minutes. Once the game finally began, the scores quickly changed with JC’s sophomore, Aimee Durn, who scored on a free kick from 35 yards giving Jones a 1-0 in the lead. It remained that way until Mikayla Banks, JC sophomore, scored on an assist by her teammate Anna Grace Gieger, JC freshman, to give the score 2-0. Near the end Pearl River scored ending the game 2-1.
For the Bobcat Men, the luck was sadly not on the playing field since Pearl River won 2-0.
The next game is this week on Sept. 19 when the Bobcats play at Itawamba. The Lady Bobcats will start at 5 p.m. and the Bobcats will start at 7 p.m.
