The JCJC softball team has put together an impressive winning streak of late. The Lady Bobcats are currently 15-1, propelling them to the second ranked team in the nation.The Lady Bobcats’ last home series was against East Central Community College on Feb. 28.
The Lady Bobcats took both games of the double header. The Bobcats would win the first game 2-1 against the Lady Warriors. Jones was led defensively by sophomore pitcher Karli Parque. Parque would strike out 11 batters while only allowing the one run. On the offensive side, sophomore infelder Taylor Murray would hit a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning to jump start the Bobcat offense. In the second inning, freshman outfielder Gracie McCleskey would bring in the second and final run for Jones on a two out double.
The Lady Bobcats would win easily against the Lady Warriors in the second game of the double header. Jones would beat East Central easily with a score of 9-1. The Lady Bobcats would put up three runs in the bottom of the first inning and would add on six more runs throughout the game. The Bobcats would only let the Warriors score one run in the the six innings they played on Feb. 28 to finish off the series sweep.
