JCJC bowl over PRCC on the Gridiron

The JCJC Bobcat football team racked up another win against Pearl River Community College on Oct. 14 in the 87th annual “Catfight.” The Bobcats defeated the Wildcats by a score of 52-31.

The Bobcats were surprisingly out gained on the ground. The Wildcats out rushed the Bobcats by 100 yards. But what the Bobcats lacked on the rushing aspect of the offense, they made up for it passing game. Both quarterbacks for the Bobcats, Chris Weaver and Detric Hawthorn, showed off their passing abilities. The two sophomore quarterbacks completed over 50 percent of their passes and racked up over 100 yards through the air.

The Bobcats will play their next game against the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldogs. The Bobcats and the Bulldogs will face off against each other on Oct. 28 at 3:30 p.m. in Perkinston. Show up loud and proud to support your Bobcats for their final regular season game of the year.
