The Jones College football team had a great 2021 season. With a close loss against Northwest Community College, Jones ended their season Saturday, Nov. 6 in the playoff game with a final score of 20-26.
The women’s soccer team had an exciting weekend as well. They traveled to Holmes-Ridgeland to compete for the MACCC/Region 23 Championship. Both teams had a score of 1-1 for the most part of the game. With one minute left in the game, Delaney Cooley scored a goal that led Jones to a victory and a Region 23 Championship title. That win secured a spot in the 2021 NJCAA Soccer DII Women’s Championship for the second consecutive season.
The MACCC and Region 23 Women’s tennis champions were recognized at the playoff football game Saturday, Nov. 6.
“After winning our championship back in April, we knew one day we were going to recieve our championship rings,” said Mia Hoed, a sophomore tennis player. “We had to wait a few months, so it felt even more special when we finally got them. It was a very special moment and atmosphere while getting them at the playoff football game! It was a day and moment I will never forget.”
As fall season sports are winding down, winter sports are kicking off. The Jones College basketball teams have had a good start to the season. With teams currently undefeated, the men’s team has a four-win streak, while the women have a two-win streak.
