Bulldogs run rough-shot over the Bayou Bengals

The Mississippi State Bulldogs and the LSU Tigers faced off against each other in both teams’ first SEC conference game. From the opening kickoff the Bulldogs controlled both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. The Bulldog defense held the powerful LSU offense to only 133 yards on the ground and 137 yards through the air. The Bulldog offense racked up over 400 yards of total offense against the Tigers, behind a great showing from quarterback Nick Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald would account for four total touchdowns, two passing and two rushing.

The scoreboard never lies at the end of a game. The final would read a 37-7 pounding. For the Tigers this loss could make or break their season. Making it to the postseason with a loss in the SEC conference is a very difficult task. But for the Bulldogs, this win for them starts out their season on a very high note. The Bulldogs will have to keep winning big games like this one if they want to make a run for the SEC Championship in November.
