Bobcat baseball begins season with sweep

The Bobcat baseball team has swept the season so far. With a 6-0 record, the Bobcats look forward to the road ahead. JCJC defeated Southwest Tennessee in their opening double header 13-7 in the first game and 6-2 in the second. Freshman Luke Hudson hit a homerun in the first game with impressive performances by freshmen Robby Woody and Trace Henry. On the mound redshirt sophomore Will Freeman claimed with a win during the first game.

In the second game redshirt sophomore R.J. Brown came through with a double and a single. Sophomores Luther Woullard and Hudson Harris also doubled during the game. Defensive performances came from freshmen Cooper Brune and Payton Harris as well as redshirt sophomore Bryce Fagan.

The Bobcats then won on the road against Coastal Alabama 5-4 and 10-3. Upon returning to “The Bank,” JCJC defeated Mineral Area 12-1 and 5-0. The team will continue to play on the road at Shelton State on Feb. 27.
