Although Gov. Tate Reeves has ordered all Mississippians to “shelter at home,” several folks are still out and about and show no plans of stopping. Activities like grocery runs and doctor appointments are deemed essential and in more recent days, one might see several masks being worn in public.
Wearing masks is and has always been part of the emergency response that has been put in place by government officials as well as being encouraged by doctors. Though it has been said that the surgical masks only prevent the spread of germs from the person wearing it, the U.S. is to the point that any protection against spreading germs is important.
The virus takes two weeks to expose its symptoms, so while wearing a mask while feeling healthy may be annoying – better safe than sorry.
