Syria’s chemical weapons program has always been a target of elimination for the U.S. government. In the past, the U.S. has put forth efforts to take control of 100 percent of aforementioned weapons.
Despite the attempt, there have still been reported attacks by the Syrian government on the nation’s civilians. In 2017, a chemical weapons attack recorded killing 70 women and children in Syria. Another suspected attack was launched on the Syrian city of Douma April 13, 2018.
U.S. President Donald Trump retaliated the same day by launching precision strikes on the Chemical Weapons Program.
“These are not the actions of a man- they are the crimes of a monster, instead,” Trump reported in his official statement on Fox News Channel regarding the actions of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
While there may be a bit of controversy behind the ordeal, it is important for the American people to hope for the best and support the decision of the president.
