Trick-or-Treating is not so safe anymore

Trick-or-treating has been a long-lived tradition on Halloween. Kids go door-to-door in different neighborhoods to collect candy. When this tradition first started, the parents would allow their children to roam freely in the neighborhoods. Given the world’s current state, one is forced to think if it is truly safe to continue with this tradition anymore.

In America alone, there are currently 805,781 registered sex offenders based on the research from crime victims centers. These are registered criminals living in areas where kids may visit to trick-or-treat.

About 800,000 children are reported missing every year, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. These facts alone should make parents question the safety of their children when letting them trick-or-treat without adult supervision.

There are several opportunities for a child to be abducted or harmed while going door-to-door. Children should not be put in harm’s way for just a piece of candy.
