Protect yourself from the flu this season

Every year from October to February, the flu season is in full swing. Along with a cough, fever and chills come missed classes and essential hours studying. If only there was a way to get away from the awful virus. According to the CDC, there might be. The CDC “recommends a yearly flu vaccine for anyone 6 months of age and older.” While getting shots is no fun, this is the biggest step in preventing influenza. Other steps to fighting the flu include frequent hand washing and staying away from those already affected.

If you have come in contact with the flu, be careful. The 2017-2018 flu season has been very serious. In a health segment on the Today Show, tips were shared like “drink plenty of fluids, take fever reducers and if needed, antiviral drugs can be prescribed by a doctor.” Most importantly, if you have the flu, stay away from other students and teachers to avoid spreading it. The flu can easily send an entire campus to bed. If you think you have the flu, get some rest. You only have one body, and you should take care of it to the best of your ability.
