The beginning of a new year has always been a well-celebrated time. For some, it is a joyous occasion because they make it to another year, but for others, it is a time for them to rethink their lives. Many people believe that the start of the year means that it is time to leave all of the negative aspects of the previous year behind. While most people may adore the idea of people changing their lives around, others look down on them for waiting so long to change their lives.
For those who decide to change their ways, the beginning of the year is symbolic. Often, their mindset is what causes them to change. Another reason they may want to change is the fact that they may have had a really bad year, so they just want to change as much as they possibly can to make up for the previous year.
Those who view new year’s resolutions as mediocre see things a little differently; they think it’s a waste of time. They believe that people should not wait until the next year to change. Their primary defense quote is “tomorrow is not promised.” This makes those who believe in new year’s resolutions open their eyes to the fact that change must start now, or it may never take place.
Regardless of how one feels about resolutions, we have a new year, and we should make the most of it.
