Ignore the coach, lose the game

Jones County Junior College added something special in fall of 2017. The school implemented an extended use of academic coaches to help freshman students navigate through their first year of college. The coaches are there to help students through guidance and with any problems that may arise.

Academic coaches have already proven helpful to students, giving many an anchor in a new academic world. Any student who doesn’t make the effort to speak to his or her academic coach can make the school year needlessly stressful and confusing. Students may not believe that they need the help, but they are only making their own lives harder. Like in sports, if you ignore the coach’s help, you are liable to lose the game.
