Fashion pales to education

Teenagers, especially girls, are pressured to conform to the fashion laws of society. If their clothes are not name brand, they tend to get shunned by their friends and acquaintances. Why is fashion so important?

This peer pressure occurs most often in elementary, middle and high school.  Senior college students seem to not care as much about the way they dress, but the issue can still be seen sometimes on the junior college level. Brand name clothes and accessories should not define who a person is. Students should spend less time judging others on the way they look and more time focusing on receiving an education.
