Cafeteria food offers selection

Jones County Junior College offers a wide variety of food choices that every student can hopefully enjoy. Fresh fruit, salads, ice cream and pizza are just a few of the many options. There are so many options that even the pickiest of student can likely find a meal or snack regardless of his or her taste. The food is prepared by different people every day, so the taste may not always be the same, but since the same recipes are used the flavor is usually very similar.

In my opinion, the food is not that bad, but cafeteria food often has a certain stigma attached to it. The burgers are quite delicious and the only major inconsistencies are very minute issues, such as the salt on fries being way over used or not used enough. However, exhibition line always seems to amaze me because the food is different from the main line and never disappoints with flavor and appearance. The dessert bar is my least favorite, however; I love to eat cake, but the cake served here usually tastes a bit on the dry side.

Even though the cafeteria has some pros and cons, it does provide students with the option to eat healthy food. It is the student’s choice whether to eat healthy and enjoy the benefits or over look these options and pass the salt.
