Vice President of Jones County EDA to speak to Honors College

Larkin Simpson, vice president of the economic development authority (EDA) of Jones County, will be on campus speaking to students and faculty of the Jones County Junior College’s Honors Institute Tuesday, April 11 at 6 p.m in the Home and Health Auditorium. He will discuss economics within the area and within the state, as well as the impact that they have on society, specifically education.

Simpson was appointed to the EDA in 2010 as chamber director and project manager and became vice president in 2015.  Along with his job as vice president of the EDA, he maintains the blog “A Boy Making Noise In a Southern Voice.” Simpson resides in Laurel with his family.

The Charles Pickering Honors Institute invites speakers every month to talk to students about leadership and its characteristics. Simpson will be the final speaker this semester in the Honors College speaker series.
