Universities to visit campus

As students look forward to becoming an alumnus from Jones County Junior College, they must also consider where to further their education after graduation. Several four-year institutions visit campus throughout the year to recruit students as well as answer any questions they may have.

In September there will be two universities visiting Jones Hall. On Sept. 19, there will be Delta State University and Sept. 27 will be Mississippi State University. During October the University of South Alabama will come on Oct. 25 and will return on Nov. 9. The University of Southern Mississippi will present students with a unique opportunity to be admitted at their Instant Admit day Nov. 7.

The Jones County Junior College Advisement Center also organizes other events to assist students in a smooth transition after Jones. On Sept. 20 students can explore their major in Jones hall from 9 a.m. until noon. Also, the fall transfer fair will be held on Oct. 11. If students still have questions or are interested in learning more about a university, the Student Success Center organizes campus visits for group tours. The first trip will be to Mississippi State University on Oct. 17. Next, students will have the opportunity to visit the University of Mississippi on Nov. 14. Campus visits cost $20, and students can sign up on a first-come first-serve basis in the Student Success Center.
