Last Wednesday, millions of people expected to wake up to their stimulus cash but instead were met with nothing.
It has been reported that certain tax preparation services are to blame for this, as people’s direct deposit information may not have been on file due to specific events that may occur during the tax filing process.
Citizens were provided with a tracking tool, Get My Payment, by the IRS in order to see when their checks will reach their bank accounts. However, the tool’s reliability has been compromised, and many people attempting to use it are only left with a message that simply reads “payment status not available.”
Possible solutions are still up in the air, and one can only hope that issues will quickly be resolved.
