Jones County Junior College’s Student Government Association is hosting their annual “Fall Freeze Week” Oct. 23-27.
The week is filled with a variety of events that take place on campus the week before Halloween. The events start on Sunday Oct. 23 with the Zombie Run at 7 p.m. The price for students is $15, and for anyone who is not a student, the price is $20.
“This year’s Fall Freeze Week will be something entirely new and improved. I’m really excited about the addition of a haunted house and new plans for a zombie run,” said SGA sophomore class president Landon Singleterry.
Next up on Monday Oct. 24 is the movie marathon in the Home and Health Building. The movies start at 6 p.m. with “Hocus Pocus,” “The Conjuring 2” and “Mama.”
“I probably look forward to Fall Freeze Week more than any other event SGA puts on. It’s the week that the weather has gotten a little cooler, the excitement of Halloween is right around the corner, and you feel excited that you are halfway through the semester. What better way to celebrate?” said SGA Secretary, Laura Armour. “I look forward to the dance the most. It is always a blast having a night dedicated to dancing out all the stress that comes with being a college student.”
On Tuesday Oct. 25, SGA will host the costume dance in the Union from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. The price is $3, and one must wear a costume to enter.
Wednesday Oct. 26 will feature the haunted house located on the first floor of the Humanities Building from 6 – 9 p.m. The cost is $3 and is open to anyone. The theme is “haunted hospital.”
Lastly, on Thursday Oct. 27, students are encouraged to wear a costume to the football game to support the Bobcats as they play against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
