SGA officer election applications are due Feb. 23, and the election will be on March 6. Students who are interested can pick up an application in Sonya Dykes’s office, which is located by the Student Success Center. The positions available are SGA president, vice president and secretary/treasurer.
The SGA president is responsible for several speaking engagements throughout the year as well as being active in activities on campus. The vice president presides twice a semester over town hall meetings with the elected and appointed senators. The secretary/treasurer is responsible for taking notes during weekly leadership meetings as well as monthly SGA wide meetings.
Becoming an officer for SGA is a fantastic idea for those looking to make a positive impact at JCJC.
