Jones celebrates Christmas Dec. 2

Thursday, Dec 2, “A Jones College Christmas” is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the plaza outside the C.L. Neil Student Center. The Maroon Typhoon color guard will perform along with various small ensembles to present Christmas carols as the Jones College Christmas tree is lit.

The Jones Concert Choir, JC Voices, JC Jazz Band, Touch of Gold Dancers, the Percussion Ensemble and several special guests will begin live musical and vocal performances immediately after the Tree Lighting. This will be at 6 p.m. in the M.P. Bush Fine Arts Auditorium. The show, called “Snow Place Like Jones,” will be emceed by Maddie Brown and Julia Graham.

Admission costs for the Jones College Christmas program will be a new, unwrapped toy, which will be donated to the Salvation Army for their Angel Tree toy drive program. Suggestions for these gifts include toys, sporting equipment, board games and plush animals. The toys will be distributed to children across Jones, Clark, Jasper, Wayne, Smith and Simpson counties.
