JCJC to hold transfer fair

Jones County Junior College will hold a transfer fair Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to noon on the first floor of Jones Hall.

This fair is an opportunity for students to meet with university representatives in sessions. Students will be able to speak with these representatives about financial aid, class transfers, and any other information about the transfer process.

There are three options applicable to transfer to another college: by earning an associate’s degree, by completing 30 hours with a minimum GPA of 2.0, and by meeting the requirements for an entering freshman.

JCJC Advisement Counselor Kisha Jones recommends making sure all classes taken at JCJC are transferable and advises students to keep their grades up.

“With the possibility of transfer looming, it can be very easy to slack off on homework and class attendance, but maintaining good grades matters,” said Jones. “The higher the GPA, the better the chance of transfer admission.”

JCJC’s Advisement Center will hold transfer events and campus visits throughout the rest of the fall semester. For more information about these events, contact the Student Success Center at 601-477-4257.
