JCJC kicked off the new school year last Monday night with Meet the Bobcats. JCJC President Dr. Jesse Smith delivered the opening remarks where he introduced three new staff members: Steve Buckley, football head coach; Brendan Connolly, men’s soccer head coach; and Ben Burge, head director of bands. He also presented the school’s new scoreboard with recognition to Howard Industries, Coca-Cola, and Community Bank for their donations through the years.
Members of fall athletic teams, including football and both men and women’s soccer, were announced, along with the members of the Maroon Typhoon. The band wrapped up the night with performing their game night pre-show. As spoken in the closing remarks by Dean of Students Mark Easley, Meet the Bobcats was “only a sneak peek” of what to expect this upcoming athletic season and school year.
