Jones County Junior College holds approximately six art shows each school year that feature works from local artists or its own students. The upcoming October art show will feature sculptures by Jennifer Torres, a sculpture teacher and current art department chair at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Torres works primarily in metal or wood for each of her bodies of work, but recently, her work has also been known to be abstract. Her sculptures reflect her accomplishments throughout her career.
Torres will be featured October 3-28 in the Eula Bass Lewis Gallery at JCJC.
She will speak to JCJC students in the gallery October 5 about her art.
