Each fall semester JCJC’s Student Government Association hold elections for homecoming maids, class officers and senate positions. The few and the brave adorn themselves in stickers, t-shirts and a smile to promote their campaign as they distribute sweet treats to their peers in exchange for a potential vote.
This week of civil competition is looked forward to by some while dreaded by others. Either way one looks at it, the time is upon us.
Campaigning will begin Tuesday, Sept. 5 until elections on Tuesday, Sept. 12. If there is a tie for a position, a run-off will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14.
Candidates are not allowed to campaign before the designated day. Means of campaigning can include posters, signs, flyers, favors, etc., but campaigning is not allowed in buildings other than the Student Center or The Union. Students will be able to vote through a link sent by a student-wide email. All students, both residential and commuter, are encouraged to vote for their peers.
