COVID-19 has undoubtedly had its unprecedented effects on everyday life for people around the globe. Colleges around the world have changed how their students learn, and Jones is no exception.
Jones College has faced the challenges that come with COVID-19 head-on by implementing an entirely new structure for students, teachers and faculty. Initially, the institution extended its spring break by one week, both to ensure students’ safety as well as to allow instructors to prepare for a strictly online learning approach to adapt to the world’s ever-changing dynamic.
In addition to Jones converting to a learn-from-home format, the college has also closed campus housing and all testing centers. However, for the convenience of Jones students, the Campus Clinic will still offer services in a mobile format Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Students can email campusclinic@jcjc.edu to make an appointment.
In addition, Jones has offered WiFi Hotspots around the main campus to better accommodate students learning from home. Students can enter campus through the 590 bypass where they can work on assignments in their cars. They should bring their Jones ID.
It is unclear how long Jones College and other institutions globally will continue to operate in this fashion, but the Jones family is ready to see their Bobcats back on campus.
