Traveling can play a large part in a student becoming a well-rounded person, as he/she makes friends and learns about oneself. All these things usually happen in college anyway as these years are a time when people are exposed to new ideas and form their own ideas and opinions. Traveling enhances that experience.
Jones County Junior College’s Student Government Association President Alex Hickson spent the summer traveling. First, she went with a group of friends across the country to the Grand Canyon. Then, all alone, she took a plane to Alaska. Hickson said traveling really helped her grow as a person. She got to connect with nature, meet new people and make new memories.
“I appreciate everything so much more because I’m not traveling extravagantly. I’m traveling to enjoy everything that surrounds me,” said Hickson.
So start saving, buy that plane ticket, and have a new experience.
