Christmas came early with Santa’s Swinging Pajama Party held Nov. 29 by Jones College Fine Arts. The Fine Arts Department brought together several talented groups to show their Christmas spirit through music.
Members of the audience were encouraged to wear their finest pajamas as many of the performers for the night would be doing the same. JC Voices performed a beautiful mixture of selections that changed from joyous, cheerful tunes to melodious songs speaking of the birth of Christ. JC Jazz Band engaged the audience with their unmatched accompaniment for most of the event and were joined by the Touch of Gold dance team who effortlessly showcased their choreography in ways that made the audience feel even more involved. The Bridge also added onto the extravaganza with immaculate vocals in a capella that could have convinced anyone that there were instruments playing.
The Fine Arts Department did a phenomenal job of making the audience feel as if they were a part of the performance with a fantastic light show as well as the entertaining storytelling that came with the show.
The event showed the true meaning of Christmas due to their admission only requiring one unwrapped toys which would be donated to the Salvation Army to more than 400 kids across Jones County. A show of this caliber called for assistance from all over campus and truly showed how Jones College is not only talented at producing great performers, but also bringing the entire community together.
