Registering early is a top priority

Early registration for classes is always a priority, especially for sophomores. Each semester, JCJC has new groups of freshmen who are not familiar with how advisement works or the process of registration.

To contact an advisor, students can log on to the myJones page with their student I.D. and password, then go to the left of the page where the quick launch tab is located and select gmail to send their advisor an email. If a student is unclear about who their advisor is, he or she can select student advisement under the quick launch tab. Selecting student advisement will open a second page with detailed information about advisors and how to set appointments. For information about where an advisor is located, click the my advisor tab in the bottom right corner for a building and room number.

Most students will agree that early registration is the key to enjoying the upcoming semester. Students who register early have more options when selecting class times, instructors and getting the courses they want compiled into one semester.

“The most important thing for me is having options. I have a job so it is imperative that my school schedule can be made around my work hours,” said JCJC sophomore, Hannah Love.

It is important that students plan realistically about making schedules around jobs and allow themselves time in the day to study. Early registration is also significant to students who do not live close to the college. Being able to schedule classes on Tuesday and Thursday would likely be ideal for someone who has a lengthy distance between home and the campus.
