Jones Colleges students can explore downtown Ellisville for great finds, food

From cafes serving amazing dishes to boutiques with stylish outfits, downtown Ellisville offers something for every Jones student.

Bennie and Mae’s

            Located on the corner of Court and Ivy Street, Bennie and Mae’s offers sweet treats such as sundaes, shakes, ice creams and lemonade. Bennie and Mae’s is open seven days a week, providing an area for students to hang out with friends.They also have several gluten-free and sugar-free options for those with dietary restrictions.

The Coffeehouse

            The Coffeehouse, located on 113 S. Front St., has been raved about for their food and beverage options. They offer a variety of sandwiches, wraps and coffees. Beyond their food choices, The Coffeehouse has a gift shop area where one can find jewelry, clothing, books and more. The establishment also offers seating areas for students who can enjoy studying or just hanging out with friends.

Ward’s Pharmacy

            Ward’s Pharmacy, one of Ellisville’s oldest pharmacies that offers a step back into the past, can be found at 122 Front St. Customers can browse the gift shop section or have sodas, coffee, ice cream, milkshakes and more offered at the old-fashion refreshment counter.

Casadores-Mexican Grill

            Located on 100 Jessamine St, Casadores is the Mexican restaurant closest to the college. Open seven days a week, it offers an inexpensive meeting place for students to enjoy tacos, steak, burritos and more.

NayBone’s Backyard BBQ

            Naybone’s is an establishment known for their BBQ-style food options such as ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, wings, potato salad and more. While their weekly open hours vary, students can check their opening times on their Facebook page: NayBonesBBQ. Naybone’s, located at 117 Ivy St., offers a unique dine-in area for customers with fun and interesting items on the walls.

Harp and Hound Restaurant and Butchery

            Harp and Hound, located on 110 Front St., offers many options from hand-cut steak to artisan pizza. Whether students are wanting to celebrate an occasion or just have a nice meal with friends, Harp and Hound is the place to go. It shares its daily specials on its Facebook page:HarpandHound.

Hildy Pearls LLC

            Hildy Pearls, found at 103 Ivy St., is a boutique offering clothing and accessories from dresses, jeans, skirts, dress tops, jewelry and more. Hildy Pearls can help students look and feel good while attending the many events held at Jones.

Shirley’s Discount

            Shirley’s Discount is a great place to shop for crafts and dorm decor needs. There are varieties of decor, clothing, accessories and crafting supplies, all at a nice price. Shirley’s can be a great place to find bargains, including putting together a new outfit for school. Find them located at 101 S. Front St.

Southern Sweet Boba

             Southern Sweet Boba is a cozy spot that offers students different flavors and styles of boba teas to satisfy everyone. This spot has indoor seating for their customers to enjoy not only their drinks but also loaded baked potatoes and gourmet grilled cheese. Southern Sweet Boba is located on 109 S Front St.

Carpenter Bro’s Emporium of Wonderful Whatnots

            The Carpenter Bro’s Emporium of Wonderful Whatnots is a unique store where a variety of décor and gifts can be found, such as antiques to collectible displays.            Whether exploring with friends or just adding to their own collections, students will enjoy looking at everything offered. It’s located on 113 Ivy St.

Hill Street Bakery

            Hill Street Bakery is a well-known spot in Ellisville known for their sweet treats. Baked goods such as cupcakes, cheesecakes, cookies and muffins can be found here. It’s located on 113 S. Front St.

            Whether wanting to have a delicious meal at Casadore’s Mexican Grill or finding a new outfit at Hildy Pearls Boutique, there is plenty to do in downtown Ellisville.
