Jones College works to prevent suicide

The month of September is known to be National Suicide Prevention Month. Jones College’s counselor, Sarah Jones, created a suicide prevention booth on September 17, 2021, to help students see a need to live and know how much they matter.

The booth included different colors of beads for the students to choose from. Each color symbolized the personal connection to the cause. For example, orange stood for loss of a sibling and green for personal struggles with suicidal thoughts.

Jones and her two volunteers gave out free t-shirts of different sizes saying, “Stay; Your Story is not Over
