Jones College theater department prepares for Hairspray

It has been no secret that the Jones College Theater Department will perform the highly-anticipated Hairspray. Hairspray has been renditioned many times, and students cannot wait until the day comes for their first performance. With as much work that is going into the play, there is no doubt that there will be a massive turn out.

The cast features a diversity of talent, stemming from students who have been a part of the Theater Club for quite some time to students who were brought along to help. No matter how long they’ve been involved with the program, each student has worked to make this musical the best performance Jones College has ever seen. Sophomore Caleb Pearce has been doing his part in helping the production come into fruition.

“It’s been very tiring, but one of the best performances I’ve been a part of, and every minute of rehearsal is as fun as it is busy,” Pearce said.

With so many expectations to meet, the Theater Department is sure to truly surpass their standard of amazing productions. Jones College is known for its standing ovations and the showing of Hairspray will fully supply that demand.

Note: “Hairspray” will be Feb. 28 at 7 p.m., March 2 at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. as well as March 3 at 2:30 p.m. in the Jones Fine Arts Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for children and $10 for adults with free admission for JC students and faculty with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
