Do you have a game plan for Black Friday?

November is an exciting month of the year. The leaves change colors, the weather turns cool, Thanksgiving is at the end of the month and Black Friday arrives. We all know the haunting stories of shopping on Black Friday – the middle-aged soccer mom shoving people in line to get the last 52” flat-screen TV. Over the past several years, Black Friday has become a holiday in itself in the U.S. and before you spend your paycheck on impulse buys, there are some shopping tips you should know.

First and foremost, make sure to have a budget to keep track of your money. Give yourself a limit on the amount of money you can spend at however many stores you plan to go to. Before you start shopping at a random store, make sure to have chosen where you want to go before getting in the car. Knowing what store you want to shop at is crucial and will save you time and money searching for items. Lastly, this is the perfect time to buy gifts for friends and family members, but making sure the products you buy are on high demand is a must. If those products are on high demand and won’t possibly go on sale later in the year, buying them is essential. Being prepared for Black Friday isn’t too much of a hassle whenever you have a game plan to follow and are able to stick with it.
