There is no doubt that the word has gotten around about the recent flood in Louisiana. Thousands of people have had their worlds impacted in the worst of ways: losing homes, cars, personal belongings and even loved ones.
Organizations like FEMA, American Red Cross and American Humane Association are extending a helping hand toward relief efforts. For those that are not yet aware, Jones County Junior College has also taken a role in helping those affected.
For the next few weeks in September, students can donate canned goods, manual can openers, cleaning supplies, toiletries, baby formula, diapers, children’s school supplies and bottled water. Students who are interested in assisting with relief efforts can drop off donations at these locations: the cafeteria, Jones Hall, The Baptist Student Union, Student Success Center, Fine Arts building, and the P.E. building.
For more detailed information, students can check their emails for a message from Dr. Samuel Jones from Aug. 24.
