Anticipating the upcoming semester

The fall semester may have just begun at Jones County Junior College, but some students are already planning their schedules for the spring.

“I love Jones,” said Katelyn Regan, a JCJC freshman. “I’m already thinking of my spring classes.”

Regan, who plans to transfer to Mississippi State University after Jones, is focusing on taking her prerequisites.

“I’m majoring in kinesiology, so I already know for sure that I’ll be taking Biology II and Chemistry,” said Regan.

Students who plan to make spring schedules in advance can reach their advisors through the school’s online web portal, myJones, under the Advisement Tab of the Launchpad. To access the advisor’s email address and office location, students may choose the Advisement Tab. Advisors make office hours available on the course home page and are usually on campus during the academic week.

Students planning to transfer to universities are encouraged to contact the university they plan to attend to ensure their credits will transfer. Contacting the university in advance also provides students with the opportunity to schedule classes in proximity of each other.

Students are advised to become informed about the university’s financial aid deadlines and to make early housing arrangements to ensure an easy transition after finishing Jones.
