The Annual Country Music Association Awards celebrates their 51st year

On Wednesday, Nov. 8,  the CMA’s aired their 51st production live at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. Singers Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood co-hosted this year’s event for their 10th consecutive year. Other announcers included Jimmie Johnson, Karlie Kloss, Lea Michele, Tyler Perry and Trisha Yearwood. They brought laughter and heartfelt tears to the stage as results of top singers, albums and songs were announced.

Results of winners are as follows:

Entertainer of the Year: Garth Brooks

Single of the Year: Keith Urban, “Blue Ain’t Your Color”

Album of the Year: Chris Stapleton, “From a Room: Volume 1”

Song of the Year: Taylor Swift, “Better Man”

Female Vocalist of the Year: Miranda Lambert

Male Vocalist of the Year: Chris Stapleton

Vocal Group of the Year: Little Big Town

Vocal Duo of the Year: Brothers Osborne

Musical Event of the Year: Glen Campbell with Willie Nelson, “Funny How Time Slips Away”

Musician of the Year: Mac McAnally

Music Video of the Year: Brothers Osborne, “It Ain’t My Fault”

New Artist of the Year: Jon Pardi

Performers Garth Brooks, Luke Byran, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town and Chris Stapleton took the stage to show their passion for music. There were also mixed duo pairings who sang on stage as well in order to add a new twist to the one night show.

The CMA’s 51st show was filled with much love and appreciation for country music. The enjoyment was apparent on the audience’s faces the whole night. The wait for next year’s production will be long but worth every minute.
