Netflix brings new originals this Halloween season

The Netflix streaming service is known for its hit originals. Shows like “Stranger
Things,” “13 Reasons Why” or “Orange is the New Black” are infamous for media consumers.

This Halloween season the streaming device delivers once again with three new instant classics.
From the producers of the hit drama “Riverdale” comes a new retelling of “Sabrina the
Teenage Witch.” This rendition, titled “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” is a much darker
and mature version when compared to the original ’90s sitcom. The show stars Kiernan Shipka
as the title character of Sabina Spellmen. Shipka has had roles in other shows like “Mad Men” and
“The Legend of Korra” but this is her first time taking the lead role.

Another horror show Netflix provides this Halloween is “The Haunting of Hill House.”
The show follows a group of siblings that grew up in the haunted and horror filled home called
Hill House. It is a modern reimagining of the Shirley Jackson novel of the same name. The show
is full of deranged and twisted imagery and shocking and horrifying scenes. The show is the
perfect way to spend All Hallows Eve.

However, one Netflix original that is filled with just the same amount of mystery as “The
Haunting of Hill House” but not as much on terror is the new animated series simply titled
“Hilda.” “Hilda” is based from a graphic novel series of the same name. It follows an
adventurous, blue-haired girl named Hilda and her friends David and Frieda. The world they live
in is a modern-age society that is integrated with magical creatures. The show is very reminiscent of other classic animated shows such as “Gravity Falls” or “Over the Garden Wall.” It is a
perfect and charming way to end off a stressful day.

Netflix has brought its best to the table when it comes to scary and mysterious shows for
this Halloween holiday. Whether it’s the dark and graphic retelling of Sabrina the “Teenage
Witch” or the charming and wanderlust filled “Hilda,” Netflix has something for everyone.
