Manifest to return with final season

The hit show, Manifest, has been picked up by Netflix to bring the fourth and final season to the screen. The sci-fi mystery series climbed the charts slowly but surely. Only weeks after being canceled by NBC, Netflix picked up the show for its final installment after the Season 3 finale left viewers with multiple cliffhangers. This was announced at 8:28 a.m. on 8/28 – see what they did there?

The series follows the missing group of passengers from Flight 828 who land in New York City from Jamaica five and a half years after being presumed dead. Landing in a world five years into the future, a brother and sister duo struggle to wrap their heads around their new life along with the mystery that happened to them.

Creator of Manifest, Jeff Rake, had initially planned on Manifest being a six-season run, but sadly, the show was canceled after only three seasons. However, Rake promised fans that Manifest would be brought back to finish the series, whether it be weeks, months, or even years.

Manifest premiered for the first time on Netflix during June and proved to be very popular, gaining the number 1 spot on Netflix’s popularity poll. After Manifest was canceled on NBC, Netflix continued to add seasons, and Manifest kept proving popularity by making the top ten after the release of Season 3. Netflix will offer a 20-episode final installment for the series – where a lot will happen due to Rake having to squeeze three seasons into 20 episodes.

Manifesters will be happy to know that almost all of the cast will be returning for the final season, except a younger cast member who ages and a character killed off during Season 3. The series does not have a release date yet, but the earliest that the show could drop could be spring of 2022. While there are many unanswered questions, Manifesters can rest easy knowing all the questions will be answered, and closure rests within those 20 episodes.
