Ariana Grande is making a comeback in the music industry after several years of hiatus.
Grande is set to drop her 7th studio album titled “Eternal Sunshine” on March 8. This will be her first album since the release of “Positions” in 2020.
Grande dropped the first single off the album titled “Yes, And?” Jan. 12 as well as a music video. By Jan. 15 the music video had 29 million views, and the song was #1 on Billboard Hot 100.
The song has a catchy chorus and upbeat pop sounds. The album is rumored to have a total of 13 tracks. Grande had made two Instagram posts releasing eight song titles featured on the album: “Intro (End Of The World),” “Bye,” “Don’t Wanna Break Up Again,” “Eternal Sunshine,” “Supernatural,” “True Story,” “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love),” and “I Wish I Hated You.”
Fans speculated the album’s name when a shot of coordinates appeared in the “Yes, And?” music video. The coordinates turned out to be Montauk, NY, the same place “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” starring Jim Carrey was filmed. Grande confirmed the theory when she commented a red heart emoji under a fan’s post.
She teased the album on Instagram Dec. 27 of last year, using a post captioned “see you next year” with a heart emoji. She then made a post Jan. 17 releasing the official date and name of the album.
Grande currently has been away from her music career due to her casting in the film version of the popular Broadway musical “Wicked.” She announced her role in the movie Nov. 2, 2021 on Instagram.
Grande mentioned in an interview five years ago that being a part of “Wicked” was a dream role of hers. She is playing the character of Galinda, previously played by Kristen Chenoweth in the musical.
“Wicked” tells the story of two opposite witches, one named Elphaba and the other Galinda. Despite their differences they become friends, and the musical follows them throughout their journey, ending with an explanation of why Elphaba is the Wicked Witch and Galinda is the Good Witch.
The film is full of well-known actors such as Jonathan Bailey from “Bridgerton” and Jeff Goldblum from a handful of the “Jurassic Park” movies. Part one of the two-part film is expected to be released on Nov. 27 this year.
“Eternal Sunshine” is now available to preorder. On Feb. 1 Grande posted an Instagram story that read, “I think this one may be your favorite. It is mine.”
