“Friends” reboot rumors finally answered

Over the past couple of months, there has been speculation around the possible reboot of “Friends,” and now the rumors are finally being answered.

Along with special screenings and pop-up photo ops, “Friends” celebrated its 25th anniversary with the announcement of a one-off reunion special.

In addition to WarnerMedia’s official announcement, the original cast made the announcement by all posting the same group photo with the caption “It’s happening…”—save Matt LeBlanc who took the opportunity to post a parody photo of another group of friends.

“Friends” is one of the most iconic shows in all of television. The show was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman and lasted 10 seasons.

The television show, known for its witty banter and heartfelt relationships between the six main characters Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey, defied odds by becoming a multi-generational phenom. HBO Max will be using this notability to its advantage.

The new streaming service will host the reboot special along with the entire collection of “Friends” episodes. The unscripted reunion special is set to launch along with the new streaming service in May, according to “The Hollywood Reporter.”
