“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is the newest look in J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world. In the movie, the viewer follows a writer and “beast” lover, Newt Scamander, in the secret world of magic during 1926’s New York. Previous Harry Potter fans may recognize the names Grindelwald and Dumbledore; however, there are no reoccurring characters from the series.
Actors and actresses include Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Allison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jon Voight, Collin Ferrel, Johnny Depp, Carmen Ejago, Zoë Kravitz, Jenny Murray, Faith Woodblagrove and Ron Perlman.
The movie’s story is heartfelt as well as visibly pleasing. There have been rumors of a series of these movies, but nothing has been confirmed.
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” received a 76 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and 66 percent on Metacritic. imDb credited it with a 7.8 score. All in all, it’s worth watching.
