On Dec. 6 the Fellowship of Christian Athletes spread Christmas cheer by serving the community. Athletic teams and other donors from around Jones County “adopted” underprivileged children for Christmas. Each child filled out a “wish list” which the donors fulfilled. Through the course of the night, a meal was provided for the children and their families while they listened to the Christmas story. From there the children were taken to either the P.E. building or the A.B. Howard gymnasium where their gifts, and the athletes who bought them, were waiting. As the children rushed into the room, smiles spread across the donors’ faces with the satisfaction of knowing they made a child’s Christmas wishes possible.
