This year’s results of the Academy Awards revolved around the mistaken announcement of Best Picture. They claimed “La La Land” won and quickly corrected themselves announcing that “Moonlight,” indeed had won.
Along with that win, Casey Affleck won Best Actor for “Manchester by the Sea,” Emma Stone won Best Actress for “La La Land,” Mahershala Ali won Best Supporting Actor for “Moonlight” and Viola Davis won Best Supporting Actress for “Fences.”
Damien Chazelle won Best Director for “La La Land,” “Manchester by the Sea” won Best Original Screenplay and “Moonlight” won Best Adapted Screenplay.
